This display box is made of pine and has been treated with Shou Sugi Ban treatment. We installed a solar panel and battery system that powers LED’s that turn on automatically when dark out.

Originating in 18th century Japan, Shou Sugi Ban is a method of preserving wood by charring it with fire. The wood is burned until the surface is charred, and then coated with natural oil, rendering it weatherproof.
